Evolution of satisfaction in our care model. Etxean ondo Project
Derived from the implementation of the person-centred care model, thanks to the participation in the Etxean Ondo Project (*), from Matia Fundazioa's Quality Support Service we considered whether there were differences between the perception of the families participating in the experience and the families that follow in the units with the traditional model.
To this end, we launched the questionnaire to all the relatives of people who live or go to the Foundation's residential centres and day centres. 205 relatives carried out the questionnaire, of which 152 were in the traditional model and 53 in the Project's cohabitation units.
The results obtained showed better scores in the experimental units where the person-centred care model is implemented both in day centres and residential centres.
Moreover, in both services (day centre and residential centre) there is less variability in the scores obtained in the case of family members in the project units than in the responses from the traditional units.
Likewise, the qualitative responses were better, having observed a greater conformity with the service in the project units than in the traditional units (there are hardly any aspects that would change and/or are missing).
These results, both quantitative and qualitative, were very gratifying for all those involved in the research, although they will have to be contrasted in a new subsequent evaluation using instruments developed on the basis of the ACP model. We plan to carry out the study in the last quarter of the year.
However, we would like to share with all of you, albeit in a schematic way, the relationship between the satisfaction results obtained and the changes made in the units where the person-centred care model has been implemented on an experimental basis.
Participation in the project has allowed us to improve our care model.
With the results obtained, we see that the application of the Person-Centred Care Model generates greater satisfaction, which is why we will continue to deepen its application and make progress in the well-being of the people who live with us.
