The Ricardo Bermingham Hospital is a medium and long-stay hospital that focuses its activity on the care of non-surgical pathologies, fundamentally of a chronic nature, on rehabilitation programmes for neurological and traumatological pathologies, and on palliative care for the terminally ill cancer patient.

The working methodology is based on a multidisciplinary approach, in which the patient and his or her family are considered as a treatment unit, using three basic instruments: continuous assessment, effective communication with the patient, attending to his or her needs, control of physical and psychological symptoms, and attention and support for the family.

Decision-making in the hospital is carried out taking into account the ethical parameters of benefit to the patient and respect for the patient's wishes and autonomy. As each person's needs, wishes and circumstances are different, protocols must be individualised, always following a disciplined approach to assessment and decision-making.

Unidad de Convalecencia

Esta unidad cuenta con 13 camas y está destinada a atender, entre otras a personas con enfermedades agudas no quirúrgicas y que no precisen de servicios especializados.
